Day 10 of the Europe Ski Tour 2015 and now we ski Lech.

BUGGER.  Raining !!  Woke up at 6:30 to see it wasn’t  raining but pouring.  Looks like a quiet day, but I would still go out if others wanted.  Lucky I have wet weather Goretex clothing for just an event.  Can’t do much about it, but a bit disappointing after the high hopes from yesterday.  Paula could rest her sore knee.

At 7:20, when Paula got out of bed,  she noticed rain had turned to snow….  and it was now snowing heavily – that changed everything.  I have to get out early and sample some of this.Ski Lech

Some of the group decided for a later start, Ning wasn’t skiing nor was Alan, Mel decided not to proceed with ski hire and stay on her board today, Paula was resting her knee, and Rod & Amanda decided on a rest day.

To ski Lech on a small powder day is something not to be missed out, so, after breakfast, a  few went out and the skiing started as 6″ of powder on an ice base.  It continually and gradually improved during the day.  Despite there only being two hours of snow on the ground when we went out, we  found some excellent powder runs and stashes and we all were having a ball.

Lunch at Petersbodenbahn Hotel restaurant in Oberlech where Paula, Rod & Amanda joined us, catching the Oberlech lift virtually from in front of our hotel.  We continued to ski some more in the afternoon, but the weather came in a bit harder, visibility dropped so finished at about 2:30.  I thought it was a great first ski Lech day with uncrowded slopes, ankle deep powder and hopefully a sign of things to come.

After a sauna, apres ski drinks at Tanbergerhof in the centre of town, listening to music, and getting into some party action,  then dinner back at Hotel Sandhof.
