Thursday 8/1/15 – Today is our wedding anniversary. As the group members now know their way around this huge area, the plan is to celebrate today ourselves and ski Davos, then have lunch at the highest restaurant in the area,  top of Weissfluhgipfel at 2844 m above sea level, followed by some shopping.

And that’s what we did.

Once again, routine now set – Alan with his early morning swim, sumptuous breakfast where we were now up to speed in boiling our own eggs at higher altitude (lower boiling point so need to cook for longer), bus to Parsenn, cable rail then chairlift, and off we went to ski Davos’s main area, Parsenne.

First run, a leg warmer straight back down Parsenn with Brent giving Paula a ski lesson.

Then time for the go pro and Brent took charge – a snake with all following him but with Paula & Helen concentrating on the lesson point given by Brent, they collided on slope – looked bad, but apart from Helen’s slight strain, all were ok.

Got to top of Weissfluhgipfel and did piste no.1 run.  Even after many years of coming here, I still have not skied all the runs in the area – there are so many areas to explore and this was my first time on this piste.  Had to perform for the GoPro – and it was a black run with  Brent going over the drop backwards with GoPro in hand.

A great morning skiing and videoing then lunch at top of hill as planned with Rod, Amanda, Adam, Dee Dee, Paul, BSki Davosrent, Ning and Helen. An excellent lunch and it was great to share it with friends again.

After lunch, Paula & I were going shopping and Brent, Paul, Adam and Ning were staying out and went off. After picking up Rod and Amanda who had falls on the black run (had too much for lunch ), we found Paul & Brent at mid station – Adam and Ning not listening to instructions had gone their own way.

Paula, Helen & I spent the afternoon exploring the streets, shops, local sights – bought some souvenirs a T shirt and the hat party prize. Thong nominees- Helen for taking out Paula, Lachlan for getting back on the straight and narrow ( no girlfriend calls today) – but given to Paula and myself for 38 years of marriage.
